"...we looked like grasshoppers in our own eyes"
Check your vision. Beyond what you see or how you feel, be sure to encourage yourself in who God created you to be. This passage comes from a time when Moses sent spies to the city the Israelites were supposed to take over. As soon as the spies laid eyes on the dwellers of the city they begin to compare themselves. Comparison is the enemy of purpose. Focus on your strengths, gifts and abilities. Rest in your purpose, not distracted by what's going on around you, who's ahead of you or who's behind you. Your race is your race, run it one step at a time, eyes forward, looking passed those who may be in front of you and firmly on the finish line.
